Editorial Process
1) Manuscript Submission
Kindly submit your manuscript via Make a Submission button. A manuscript number will be mailed to the corresponding author within 48 hours. The manuscript must be submitted in MS-WORD file format. Before submitting your manuscript, authors are recommended to follow the Author Guidelines. Manuscripts not conforming to these guidelines may be returned. The review process takes about five weeks.
2) Paper Selection and Publishing Process
- a) Submission Acknowledgement
When you submit a manuscript, the EJMSS online application provides automated confirmation notification to the authors and a manuscript number will be addressed in the authors account. If you do not receive this confirmation, please check your bulk/spam email box, or contact the editorial assistant ejmss@tiu.edu.iq.
- b) Basic Review
The editor or editorial assistant figures out whether the manuscript fits the journal’s focus and scope. Next, a check for the similarity rate is done using Cross-check, powered by Turnitin. Any manuscripts out of the journal’s scope or having plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, are rejected. Manuscripts out of the journal’s scope are rejected. Articles published fully or partly in other publications/websites are not reviewed or accepted.
- c) Peer Review
We use a double-blind system for peer-review; both reviewers’ and authors’ identities remain anonymous. The submitted manuscript will be reviewed by at least two experts: one editorial staff member as well as one to three external reviewers. The review process may take two to three weeks.
- d) Decision is Made
The decision to accept an article is based on the average score given by reviewers. The reviewers grade a submitted manuscript on a scale of 1 to 5. To be accepted for publication, the manuscript must obtain an average score of not less than 2.5. If differences of opinion occur between reviewers, the editor or editorial assistant will weigh all comments and arrive at a balanced decision based on all comments, or the second round of peer review may be initiated.
- e) Notification of the Result of Review
The result of the review will be sent to the corresponding author.
- f) Submission is Accepted
If the submission is accepted, the authors revise the paper.
Volume and Issues
EJMSS annually has 1 volume, and each volume has 2 issues.
Issues
Each issue has not less than 5 accepted manuscripts. The annual issues take a place in the months of July and December.
DOI
The EJMSS has authenticated Digital Object Identifier (DOI). Each accepted paper has own DOI as the digital object identifier is a persistent identifier/handle used to uniquely identify objects, standardized by the International Organization for Standardization.
